ESCAPE FROM L.A.
8. May 2008 by Glendo.
The Mets where able to salvage the final game against the Dodgers, wining 12-1. After taking the first two games off the offense came trough big time scoring this many runs for the first time since the second game of the season. 3-3 on a tough road trip not bad, could have been better.
Maine is now clearly the second best pitcher on this team behind Santana.
Ryan Church is continuing to play stellar baseball, the teams MVP so far this season.
Wright, Reyes, and Beltran are the heart of this teams offense, and they need to pick up.
The Mets come home to start a 7 game home-stand with a weekend set against the Cincinnati Reds. The Mets need to beat up on the Reds who are a very spotty team.

D’Antoni the new Knick head coach?
8. May 2008 by gchacko.
According to Frank Isola of the Daily News, D’Antoni is simply using the Knicks to drive up any offer that would be coming from the Bulls. More importantly, Isola is reporting that his sources are telling him that the job is still Mark Jackson’s to lose.
According to the East Valley Tribune, the Knicks are planning on making a substantial financial offer to Mike D’Antoni, who still has two years and 8.5 million dollars left on his contract with Phoenix. D’Antoni’s agent, Warren LeGarie, will be in New York today to meet with Donnie Walsh. Reports also surfced yesterday saying that the bulls were the only ones that have extended a contract to D’Antoni.
ESPN.com has reported that the New York Knicks are prepared to make a “staggering” financial offer to D’Antoni to prove he is the No. 1 choice to lead that once-proud franchise out of the wilderness. The offer, which could top $30 million for five years, would figure to far outdistance any offer D’Antoni’s other suitor, the Chicago Bulls, could muster.”
