Favre Update

Sunday we were told there would be an open QB competition in Green Bay once Brett Favre returned. Sorry Aaron Rodgers.

Yesterday we witnessed a media frenzy on all sports outlets as Favre returned to GB and got off his plane and drove himself from the airport. All I wanted to do was turn on ESPN News to get scores, not here about Brett Favre all day.

Today, after hearing that the two sides have met for hours on end since he has arrived, Favre has said he wants to be released. Can we just end this already?

Update (8/5/08 @ 7:22pm): ESPN News is reporting the Bucs are in talks w. the Pack regarding a Favre trade.  Stay tuned.

Has anyone seen this man?

Where Did Pedro Cerrano Go??

Dennis Haysbert may be best known for his role on “24″ as President Palmer, as the AllState spokesman, or as Jonas Blane on The hit TV show “The Unit” on CBS.  But think back long and hard.  Who was that voo-doo practicing slugger with his buddy Jobu?  Yep, it was Dennis.

Bashing the ball like the Cerrano of old as Pedro Cerrano in Major League, Major League II, and Major League: Back to the Minors:

Joba hurt…

The Yankees’ brightest budding star, Joba Chamberlain, left last night’s game in the fifth inning with a stiff right shoulder. Chamberlain might have hurt the shoulder when he lunged backward and did a near backward somersault while trying to get out of the way of Ivan Rodriguez’s throw to second base in the fifth inning. That play came with Ramon Vazquez on first base and Ian Kinsler at the plate. Kinsler hit a dribbler that eventually was ruled a foul ball but first appeared to be a double play - catcher to second base to first base. Chamberlain faced several more batters after that, walking Kinsler and giving up a three-run homer to Michael Young, but left with two outs in the fifth after calling for medical attention.
