Celtics Re-Sign Two

The Celtics re-signed two key ingredients to their Championship run early Monday morning.  Eddie House and Tony Allen were rewarded with two year deals (financial terms of the deal yet to be disclosed) and will be returning to the Celtics in 2008-2009.  Happy times!!

P.S. I would have been quite upset if we lost Eddie, because then his son wouldn’t be around on the bench anymore!

Green 17

Green 17. Enough said. The Celtics win.

Defense wins championships. This team made Kobe look normal.

Paul Pierce is the Truth.

KG is the Big Ticket.

Ray Allen is arguably the best pure shooter in history.

Combine that with all the role players, and we are Champions…In the words of Johnny Drama, “VICTORY!”

CAN YOU FEEL IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GINO TIMEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

VICTORY CIGAR FOR RED!!

Celtics 1 Game Away…Welcome Back Jesus Shuttlesworth!

…Well it’s down to the final hour of my 24th birthday, so I figured I would quickly stop in here.  Last nights game was quite unique.  At first I wanted to punch the TV the Celtics were playing so bad and just not thinking.  Then they were playing so well that I felt like I was on cloud nine.  Then suddenly it was a one point game and I felt like I was going to vomit on my living room carpet.  Then Ray Allen hit a jumper (will the real Jesus Shuttlesworth please stand up?  Or should I say remain standing after last nights stellar performance)…Anyways…Then we decide to play a game of lets foul and hope they miss FT’s, which luckily they did, and the Celtics made theirs.  I tell you, I honestly almost couldn’t watch the ending.  I was panicking, but the Celtics came out on top.  Now they need to come out with that intensity, that venom, that drive tomorrow night in Motown.  One more win to get to the Finals…One more win…Will it be tomorrow night?  Or will they put me through a third Game 7?

P.S. Richard Hamilton is a baby, he gets away with so much, and I cannot stand him.  Rasheed Wallace talking about flopping, etc.  He needs to watch some film on Mr. Hamilton.  He makes me sick.  He isn’t playing basketball, he’s trying to win an Oscar.  In the words of Cindy, “I want to punch him in the face and break his stupid mask.”  Gotta love it when the girlfriend gets all fired up and into playoff basketball!

Game 7…Wow…Still shaking

i love you Paul Pierce and i love you Celtics…and thank you Eddie House and PJ Brown for some timely plays…wow, what a game…after Lebron made that crucial steal and slammed it home to bring the Cavs within 1, I for one was worried that it was just meant to be (and meant to be b/c the refs treat Lebron like he’s MJ, but that’s a whole other article for another day)…anyways, another 7 game series, another “W.” unreal, i am still shaking w/ excitement, nervousness, and now am anxious…detroit is up next starting on Tuesday night at 8:30pm.

Celtics play like crap, refs ref like crap

Well the Celtics squandered another chance at putting a team away, on the road of course…Since they are now 7-6 in the playoffs, with all 7 wins coming at home, all 6 losses coming on the road.  It’s quite mind boggling.  They flat out suck on the road.  I don’t get it.  I am angry.  I shouldn’t be typing.  The refs blew it bad tonight.  Offensive foul on Pierce?  Are you kidding me?  Lebron had no position, he was moving, AND he reached in…But it was on Pierce…Someone explain that to me…Then the non-goal tend call on Allen’s layup, and Joe Smith decided to take a stroll after he got the inbounds, but evidently the refs didn’t see that either…F*** this

What’s Wrong With Ray Allen?

Once donned Jesus in the movie “He Got Game” Ray Allen has always been portrayed as a star basketball player whether it be on the big screen or in the limelight. He wore the Bucks purple and Sonic green for years before joining the Celtics this past year and sporting the kelly green. He, along with the other stars on the Celtics, have sacrificed a lot to get where they are this season. But why has Ray suddenly disappeared in the playoffs? Is he just on a cold streak? Can a shooter this good have a cold streak? Did he suddenly become washed up? I really have no answer…But I do know that if he shows up in Game 6, the Celtics will have a much better chance at closing out the series and getting the proverbial road monkey off their backs…

Game 2…To the C’s!

I am too pumped right now to write an article, but what a game…I was pretty depressed after the first few minutes b/c the Cavs went up by a few…But from there on, the Celtics put the clamps down again…Overall team effort, and the defense is amazing…Game 3 in Cleveland Saturday night 8pm on ABC.

Notes: Lebron is  8 for 42 in the first two games of this series (19.05%)…Game ball to Posey for another all around amazing game…Hopefully the chants of “over-rated!” by the Beantown faithful don’t get ‘Bron ‘Bron too fired up for Saturday night…Big Z had a solid night, but did most of his damage early on…Big ups to Leon Powe for another solid performance off the bench.

The Definition of Intense: KG

intense {verb}: see Kevin Garnett

Game 1 to the C’s

Well being the Celtics fan that I am, I was biting my nails to the very end of this one folks. Both teams came out extremely over anxious with an asinine number of turnovers within the first few minutes of the game. But as things settled down, the C’s had a 10 point lead after 1 quarter of play.

The lead was cut to four at halftime, and neither team really looked to take advantage of the others sloppy play early on…Just as a side note, the flagrant foul that they called Sam Cassell for on Lebron, total BS. I mean a flagrant foul is when you don’t go for the ball at all, this is a flagrant foul

Anyways, it was a hard fought game down to the very end…Luckily Lebron never got going, thanks primarily to Paul Pierce and James Posey’s hard, tough nosed defense as well as Lebron missing some shots that hey, maybe he normally makes…But all part of the game nonetheless…The back breaker came when Doc finally called KG’s number for once in crunch time with a tie game and about 30 seconds to play…He took his man in the post, got into the paint, spun, and just laid it softly off the rim, down and in for a two point Celtic lead…With twenty or so seconds now left, we know who’s getting it…King James, that’s right…Posey (who is an extremely underrated player I might add) once again played great “D” and actually tried to commit a foul before Lebron got to the hoop (we had 1 to give), but the refs did not call it and the replay showed Posey reaching, but actually never really committing a foul. As for the play, Lebron swooped in and actually had a point blank range shot, which he missed!…Definitely thought it was going to be a tie game, but next thing you know it, Posey is nailing two free throws to put us up by four. From there, it was a nice W in game 1.

Overall my thoughts on the game:

  • It was a BS flagrant on Cassell. Check out what ESPN wrote about it: “The replay seemed to indicate that James enhanced the damage, and the Boston fans let him know they were on to him”…I must say, I don’t watch many Cavs games, but Lebron flails, flops, and exaggerates more than I thought he did…Maybe Papa John’s shouldn’t have apologized.
  • We shutdown Lebron and in turn Lebron shut himself down.
  • The team played great defense.
  • KG played a helluva game.
  • Rumor has it that Paul Pierce and Ray Allen will wake up in time for Game 2 on Thurs. nite.
  • Kendrick Perkins played very solid down low vs. the big men of Cleveland. Big “Z” is a tough cover, and he got his, but overall, solid job.
  • Rondo was the unsung hero for the first half of the game at the very least. He and KG single handedly had the C’s up in the 1st half. Nice run by Cassell as well in the 2nd half with some clutch shots.
  • Game 2 in Beantown Thursday night @ 7pm on TNT
