Power Rankings
28. October 2008 by Glendo.
After Week 8, here are the Power Rankings
1. Tennessee Titans
(7-0) - Great win against the Colts on Monday night. They now have a 4 game lead in the division and appear to be well on their way.
2. New York Giants
(6-1) - Nice win in Pittsburgh. The Giants out Pittsburgh-ed the Steelers.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers
(5-2) - Both losses coming to NFC East teams. Pittsburgh is still right there in the AFC
4. Washington Redskins
(6-2) - Little bit of trouble with the Lions, but a win is a win. Redskins keep pace with New York.
5. Carolina Panthers
(6-2) - Playing really good football right now. Look to be on their way to a NFC South title.
6. New England Patriots
(5-2) - The Rams gave them quite a game, but the Pats are once again atop the AFC East. Not bad for a team without Tom Brady.
7. Buffalo Bills
(5-2) - Waiting to week 8 to play your first division game is strange. The loss to the Dolphins doesn’t seem as bad this year as say last year.
8. Dallas Cowboys
(5-3) - Defense won this game. The defense showed what they can do when they play well. Big game in New York this week, will Brad Johnson or Brooks Bollinger be the starter.
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
(5-3) - Tough loss in Dallas, offense was held to zero TDs. The Bucs are still right there in the NFC playoff picture.
10. Arizona Cardinals
(4-3) - Played a great game in Carolina, but came up a little short. This team is still a little bit away, but watch out.
NFL POWER RANKINGS

After Week 7, here are the Power Rankings
1. Tennessee Titans
(6-0) - Remains undefeated and atop the rankings. Destroyed a horrible K.C. team. rushed for almost 350 yards.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers
(5-1) - Cinnicantti was no challenge. Huge game next week with the Giants.
3. New York Giants
(5-1) - Another team winning sloppy. The Giants can’t play like this next week in Pittsburgh.
4. Buffalo Bills
(5-1) - Power outage is Buffalo didn’t stop the Bills. The win over San Diego keeps them in first in the AFC east.
5. Washington Redskins
(5-2) - Sloppy win over the Browns. Win is a win, they are right there in the NFC.
6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
(5-2) - Seattle was no contest. The Bucs have one of the best defenses in the NFL. Jeff Garcia is a real spark for this team.
7. Carolina Panthers
(5-2) - Good bounce back win for the Panthers, keeping pace with the Bucs in the NFC South.
8. Arizona Cardinals
(4-2) - Bye week.
9. New England Patriots
(4-2) - A blow out win over the Broncos on Monday night. The Patriots showed they still are the Patriots.
10. Dallas Cowboys
(4-3) - Cowboys are in trouble. The Rams destroyed their defense, Brad Johnson and the offense struggled big time.
Roy Williams traded to Cowboys
14. October 2008 by Glendo.
The Detroit Lions have traded Roy Williams to the Cowboys for a first, third and sixth round pick. The Cowboys will also receive Detroit’s 2009 seventh round pick. The Cowboys will also now have the Titan’s 2009 fifth round pick because Adam Jones has been suspended.
The Cowboys signed Williams to a 5-year extension through 2014.

NFL suspends Cowboys CB Jones for a minimum of four games
14. October 2008 by Glendo.
According to NFL.com
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones indefinitely without pay, for a minimum of four games, on Tuesday for violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
Jones will miss at least the next four games. Goodell will determine the final length of the suspension following the Cowboys’ Week 11 game against Washington on Nov. 16. The decision on whether Jones can return to play will be based on his strict compliance with his NFL and Dallas Cowboys treatment plans as well as on evaluations of his progress that will be provided to Goodell by clinical experts retained by the NFL.
Week 6 NFL Rankings
14. October 2008 by Glendo.
After Week 6 of the NFL here is how the teams stack up in my opinion.
1. Tennessee Titans
(5-0) - The Titans are now the NFL’s only undefeated and deserve the number one ranking.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers
(4-1) - Spent the bye week getting healthy. Only can get better.
3. New York Giants
(4-1) - The Giants looked far from the defending champs. The Browns tore apart their defense. When the Giants get no pressure on the QB it really shows some weakness at the linebacker and secondary positions.
4. Buffalo Bills
(4-1) - The Bills rise in the rankings even though they were on their bye.
5. Washington Redskins
(4-2) - The Redskins were due to for a game like that against the Rams. Still a very good team, should be able to improve and get back on the winning side of things.
6. Dallas Cowboys
(4-2) - Cowboys really struggled against Arizona. Now Romo is out for a month, lets see what Brad Johnson can do.
7. Arizona Cardinals
(4-2) - The defensive line looked great against the Cowboys. This team looks to be a serious playoff contender.
8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
(4-2) - The defense is winning them games. They embarrassed Carolina and took control of the NFC South.
9. Carolina Panthers
(4-2) - See above.
10. Indianapolis Colts
(3-2) - The Colts look like they are on their way back to the top of the NFL. It was only a matter of time.
NFL POWER RANKINGS
7. October 2008 by Glendo.
After Week 5 of the NFL here is how the teams stack up in my opinion.
1. New York Giants
(4-0) - The Giants made the Seahawks look like a pop warner team on Sunday. The defending champs are looking like just that. Their toughest games are still to come.
2. Tennessee Titans
(5-0) - The Titans are the AFC’s only undefeated. They already have a big lead in the AFC South and got a big win against a very good Baltimore defense on Sunday. Kerry Collins is making it hard for Vince Young to get his job back.
3. Washington Redskins
(4-1) - Washington just beat Philly and Dallas on the road in back to back weeks. The Redskins look like a very different team then the one that played the Giants on Week 1. They could very well be 7-1 at the halfway point.
4. Dallas Cowboys
(4-1) - The Cowboys are getting a lot of heat for the way they played on Sunday. They did win by 9 points against Cincy, the same team that took the Giants to overtime 2 weeks ago. Cincy may be winless but, we all tend to forget the Cowboys were playing the Cincinnati Bengals not the Bearcats.
5. Carolina Panthers
(4-1) - The Panthers look to be back to the form of a couple years ago. The defense looks great and Jake Delhomme looks healthy.
6. Pittsburgh Steelers
(4-1) - Good road win against a tough Jacksonville team. Big Ben showed some toughness, as he is clearly playing through some painful injuries. Not to mention the team was without 3 of their top running backs.
7. Denver Broncos
(4-1) - Nice win against Tampa on Sunday after getting embarrassed by the Chiefs a week ago. The defense played much better than in previous weeks.
8. Buffalo Bills
(4-1) - Trent Edwards means a lot to this team. If he is out for any long period of time, the Bills might be in trouble.
9. New England Patriots
(3-1) - There was no way the Patriots would lose coming off their bye after getting embarrassed by the Dolphins at home. Belchick’s defense gameplan was right on againstthe 49ers.
10. Chicago Bears
(3-2) - Good back to back wins for the Bears. The offense is improving each week and the defense is solid.
Tatum Bell Stole Rudi Johnson’s Bags?!
3. September 2008 by rich.
Newly signed Lions RB Rudi Johnson says his luggage was taken from the team’s facility by newly released RB and now FA Tatum Bell.
Johnson was waived by Cincinnati last week and signed a free-agent contact with the Lions on Monday. The two bags were taken from the team’s headquarters during Johnson’s meeting with GM Matt Millen.
The empty bags were returned Tuesday evening. Empty as in Johnson is still missing $200, his ID, credit cards and clothes.
Johnson has contacted Bell and hopes not to have to involve the police.
Pacman reinstated
28. August 2008 by Glendo.
Adam “Pacman” Jones has been cleared to play for the Dallas Cowboys this season. According to the AP
The cornerback-kick returner was suspended all last season, when he was with the Tennessee Titans, because of an accumulation of arrests and legal problems. He was traded to the Cowboys in April, then allowed in June by commissioner Roger Goodell to join the team in training camp and in preseason games.
Goodell, however, was still waiting to decide whether to let Jones play in the regular season. That news came Thursday, hours before Dallas’ final preseason game.
The Cowboys had been operating under the assumption that Jones would indeed be reinstated for the season. Jones’ involvement in different schemes increased throughout camp as he got comfortable in the system

A Giant hurt!
25. August 2008 by gchacko.
The Giants received some terrible news and a huge blow to the pass rush game. Osi Umenyiora will miss the upcoming season with a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee, suffered during Saturday’s preseason game against the Jets.
Although it is a far fetched theory, there is some speculation that the Giants will try to bring Strahan out of retirement. Strahan is the new analyst for FOX and is currently vacationing in Greece.
“Someone has already raised that with me today, and I haven’t really talked to anyone at this point in time about anything, to be honest with you,” said Coughlin. “I am sure that Jerry Reese and I and ownership will look long and hard at whatever options are out there and do what is best.”
